Road Contractors Association (RCA) Praha was established on 1st April 1981. Since 1st July 1992 when it changed its legal form the RCA Praha continues in its activities as an interest grouping of corporate bodies in accordance with §§ 20 f – 20 j of Civil Code. At present it has 49 members two of which are honorary: ČVUT Praha (Czech University of Technology), Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Road Structures and VUT Brno (Technical University in Brno), Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Road Structures. Member organizations are engaged in construction, reconstruction, maintenance and repairs of motorways, highways, bridges and related structures. Some member organizations focus their activities on motorway and highway design, engineering and consulting services in the field of highway and motorway construction, laboratory testing, production and sale of building materials, products, machines and equipment including the necessary service activities.
The scope of activity covers – in accordance with the clause 5 of the Memorandum of the Association – assurance of common interests of the members, particularly in the field of technical and economical information, education, training, research and coordination of contracts associated with road construction, reconstruction and maintenance, development projects, making law and regulations, coordination in the field of standardization and normalization, coordination of preparation and solution of demands and requirements in the field of technical development, solution of chosen problems of production and machine park and ensurance of consulting services at implementation of chosen new technologies.
The supreme body of the Association is represented by the Board of Directors consisting of statutory representatives of all members of the Association. In the meantime between meetings of the Board of Directors the function of the Management Body is held by the Executive Committee consisting of the chairman, 6 vicechairmen and a secretary general.
Implementation of the necessary agenda relating to activities, management and function of the secretariat is provided for the Association by PRAGOPROJEKT, a.s., SVS Division, Prosecká 74, 190 00 Praha 9 on contract basis.

The Association is a collective member of the Union of Entrepreneurs in the field of building industry in the Czech Republic.
In the year 1996 the Association became an affiliate member of EAPA (European Asphalt Pavement Association) and consequently after a year its corporate member.
